Nov. 27 to Dec. 5 Rotary Online Auction Just in time for the holidays, we are planning an online auction to help fund our club's community service, youth projects and other programs throughout the year. The auction team is gathering high-end auction items, such as vacation stays, hunts, fishing trips, merchandise, dining experiences at unique venues, jewelry, art, antiques, designer items, guns, and more. Thursday, Oct. 10 Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities Commissioner Kevin TannerOn Thursday, Oct. 10, our guest speaker will be Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities Commissioner Kevin Tanner. Commissioner Tanner brings around three decades of public service experience, with a deep understanding of Georgia’s complex behavioral health continuum. Under his leadership, historic investments in the agency’s workforce have resulted in reopening previously offline crisis beds and enabling state hospitals to operate at nearly full capacity. He'll discuss the role of his department in Georgia and its evolution. Note: Commissioner Tanner will not be available after the club meeting on Thursday, but he has graciously agreed to arrive early for those who may have questions for him. Be there at 11:30 a.m. if you'd like to meet Commissioner Tanner before the meeting. Thursday, Oct. 17 Pack & SortThe club meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17 will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Second Harvest Food Bank. This month, we are packing boxes for hurricane victims.
Friday, Oct. 18 Assemble Grow Bags for Manna DropOn Friday, Oct. 18, we'll meet at the Thomas County Central Ag Greenhouse from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. to assemble grow bags with squash plants. These plants will be given away on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Harper Elementary School as part of the Hands on Thomas County Manna Drop. Find parking instructions for the greenhouse (behind TCCHS) here.
