We need volunteers for our BBQ festival. There are different areas on which you could help:
·Crowd Control/help
·Water stand
·People’s Choice tickets sales
·People’s Choice, assisting teams to serve the public
·Raffle stand
·Setup
If you’re interested on helping, sign up online at https://dunwoodybbqfestival.com/get-involved or contact Warren Turner or George Stewart. Sign-up sheets will be available next meeting.
We are setting up a system to accept debit/credit cards for attendees at the BBQ event ( less than 3 weeks away). We will be using Square to take debit cards, but need 2-3 volunteers to try out (vet) the procedures before giving them to all the BBQ volunteers. being part of the Beta test would involve downloading the Square app to your cell phone/tablet, and then running a few practice tests to determine the effectiveness of the procedures we have developed. Will involve at most a half hour of testing and giving feedback on the understandability of instructions and effectiveness of those instructions.
If you are willing to do this the week of 08/27/18 thru 08/31/18, please send an email to Rick Otness (otness_r@mindspring.com). My thanks in advance for stepping up to do this task.
With just 4 people (Fred Bound, Rick Otness, Erich Schuetz, and Warren Turner) the Spruce up Squad was busy beautifying "Bounds Garden" over the weekend. For those newer members it is the traffic island closest to the Dunwoody Library. The Club has been giving taht traffic island TLC (tender loving care) for well over fifteen years.
This time we cut down a small dying tree, which improved motorist visibility, and did some through weeding. Our next session we will take down a larger tree and plant a new tree. For that we will need a couple more willing hands. To be put on the spruce up list of volunteers, please give Fred Bounds (fbounds@gsu.ed) your email and cell phone number, and he will include you on the alerts for the Spruce up Squad.
Last week our Club got a recognition from Dunwoody High School for our contribution to their band which allowed them to buy their own trailer.
Please, follow the instructions and share our FIRST DUNWOODY COMMUNITY BBQ CONTEST AND FESTIVAL info through social media.
THE BBQ NEEDS YOU!
THANKS!
