CCYA

CCYA (The Center for Children & Young Adults) serves multiple counties throughout the Atlanta metro area and surrounding counties. CCYA provides a home for youth who have been abused, neglected, and/or abandoned by their caregivers. It has a three building campus that offers three programs in a dormitory setting for up to 39 youth at one time in need of shelter, treatment, care and guidance. CCYA is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) including Open Gate, Life Works and Another Chance.

CCYA serves a critical need in our community for homeless and abused children. The annual award ceremony and talent show gives these kids a rare but rewarding opportunity to show their talents and skiils to a large and adoring crowd of up to 200 people. The impact on their confidence and lives is immense.

The club donates funds and volunteers annually for an annual celebration and awards ceremony for the children and young adults participating in these programs. The Club has donated $3,000.00 per year for several years including this year.

The annual celebration is held in August each year and up to ten or more Marietta Metro Rotarians volunteer to serve dinner or serve finger food and refreshments for the event. This year was a talent contest with awards.

Local officials, Juvenile Court Judges and DFACS employees as well as family and friends attend the event. The club posts the event on Facebook and its website.
