From Our District Governor
You Still Have Time

“Reach your Membership Goal.”

When I was in Middle School, I received the prefect poem which helped me in developing a positive mindset.  As we draw closer to our finish line, I am sharing it with you in hopes that you never stop believing you can achieve anything.

The Man Who Thinks He Can ... by Walter D.  Wintl

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t,
If you like to win, but you think you can’t
It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

We have three months to go and we're almost there! Make Club Membership top Priority!  I need your help! let's make it happen with action, attitude, and a little extra effort!

The things I will say, are things you have heard before…. It's not about how many we bring into Rotary, it’s about how many we keep to Grow Rotary! Let’s Grow!!

  1. Review your Membership Action Plan. Keep that energy I say at the district! Follow up on those who are tasked to call missing members and let them know they are missed! Bring them back! Assign responsibilities to back up team members and set deadlines to get unengaged members back!!
  2. Engage Current Members. Encourage existing members to become ambassadors for your Rotary club. Ask them to invite friends, family, and colleagues to club events or meetings. Have a show and tell reviewing your year of accomplishments.  Tell Your Rotary Story!!
  3. Host a Discover Rotary Event. Highlight the benefits of joining Rotary, such as networking opportunities, community service, and personal development. Put their “Passion” to work! Recruit what you need to grow Rotary!
  4. Make Social Media Your Best Friend.  Utilize platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to promote your Rotary club and its activities. Share success stories, upcoming events, and membership information to reach a broader audience.
  5. Recognize the Spark Plug in your Club. You have one. Consider offering incentives or rewards for members who successfully recruit new members or contribute significantly to your club.
  6. Keep Pushing Forward, even if you encounter obstacles or setbacks. Be willing to adapt.
  7. Work with Your President-Elect to ensure a smooth transition, evaluate your progress and “Adjust." Track your progress towards your goals and adjust as needed to ensure the Club ‘s 2024-2025 year will take off with a Bang!!

By reinforcing the strategies you have heard this past year and staying focused on your Member Action Plan, you can and will increase your membership. Watch what Happens and You will Discover “The Majic of Rotary.”
