PDG André & Walter Marria, District Polio Plus Society Chair
Paddy & Chandler Sharma, and Americus Past President Reda Rowell recently
embarked on a transformative trip to India, serving communities and
experiencing the global reach of Rotary’s initiatives.
A major highlight was their participation in administering polio
vaccines to children—a significant step toward achieving Rotary’s
mission to End Polio Now. Their efforts, alongside local Rotarians,
demonstrated the power of global collaboration in creating a healthier world.
While in India, they visited several Rotary clubs and Niloufer
Hospital, witnessing the profound impact of Rotary programs. Life-saving
medical equipment funded by Rotary is transforming care for mothers and
premature infants, giving countless families hope and a brighter future.
Cultural experiences enriched their journey, including exploring Neemrana
Fort (1464), complete with a camel wagon ride and rustic 15th-century
charm; enjoying "High Tea" at Taj Falaknuma Palace (1894),
an architectural marvel; and elephant ride up to Fort Amber and
taking in the beauty of the Taj Mahal, one of the world's most iconic
wonders
This trip was a testament to the extraordinary service impact of
Rotary and the shared vision Rotarians bring to communities across the globe.
Together, we’re changing lives and building bridges to a better future.
