When Roswell Rotary member Bill Wolff called President Nancy
Alterman about making a donation for a holiday project, Nancy knew just what
she wanted. “There are so many holiday projects for children and youth, but not
enough for our older community,” she said. “And so many are in need of basic
essentials. So we wanted to honor the seniors that are on the Roswell meals on
Wheels Program as well as those who are part of the Roswell Senior Community
Center.”
The donation from the Wolff Family Foundation was made in honor of Patsy Wolff, who was the first active female member of the Roswell Rotary Club. And Ameris Bank donated the gift bags. And of course, we added our Energize Roswell Bunny logo! Service Project Chair Mary Trapp added, “We wanted to give each senior a practical gift that they could use all year round, so we included paper products like Kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies as well as laundry detergent. And because of the generous donation, we were able to give each person a $50 gift card which can be used to Instacart groceries or other essentials.”
There were many smiles and tears and yes, dancing! When one
of the seniors asked President Nancy what she wanted for Christmas, she looked
around the room at the joy and said, “I think I already have it” That’s Service
Above Self!
