North Cobb Brings Christmas to Nigeria

The Rotary Club of North Cobb partnered with Rotary Club of Umuahia, District 9142 to host an all inclusive Christmas party for a rural community in Nigeria. It was an electrifying atmosphere for men, women and children in Awuja community in Akoli Imenyi, Abia State. This community is challenged with infrastructural deficits; inaccessible road, lack of healthcare center, electricity, toilet facility and clean water. The Christmas party featured polio immunization, distribution of food items, clothing, games, health check, and gifts from Santa Claus. At the Christmas party, a Past District Governor Grace Okaro who is a member of the Rotary Club of Umuahia revealed that there is ongoing plan to provide toilest and water facilities for the community.
