Meriwether County Football Fundraiser Supports Rotary Foundation

As the college football season unfolded, the Rotary Club of Meriwether County and passionate "friends of Rotary" enthusiastically chose a college football team to rally behind and cheer for. Throughout this exciting season, members came together at Rotary meetings to passionately discuss and record their team's weekly scores, building camaraderie and friendly competition among them.

By the conclusion of the regular football season, the Rotarians' commitment shone through as they collectively decided to donate an amount equal to their team’s total points scored throughout the season. An impressive $5,504 was raised, reflecting their love for the game and their dedication to supporting the Foundation in their names. In addition to this remarkable contribution, a special award of $100 was presented to the Rotarian or team that successfully raised the most donations. This added incentive further amplified the competitive spirit and encouraged creative fundraising efforts, contributing to the overall Foundation donation.

To add an element of surprise and excitement, a $1,000 cash prize was also allocated to a fortunate player through a lively ticket drawing. Each player had the thrill of receiving one ticket for each point their team scored, adding an exhilarating layer to the event as they eagerly awaited the announcement of the lucky winner. The fundraiser strengthened their community bonds and significantly impacted the Foundation’s efforts.
