Clubs all across the district took special measures to celebrate World Polio Day and raise money to support polio eradication. Many clubs posted the polio story on their Facebook pages. Midtown Atlanta and Smyrna each hosted special meetings with updates on where the fight against polio stands today. The Rotary Clubs of Carrollton and Carrollton Dawnbreakers teamed up to turn the Courthouse red. And Georgia's Governor issued a proclamation commemorating World Polio Day.
The Rotary Club of Moultrie hosted its 3rd Annual “Pints for Polio” event on World Polio Day! The club partnered with a local restaurant, The Square, to host the event on October 24th.The Square donated $1.00 for every craft pint purchased that night and an addition $1.00 for every dinner entrée. Polio facts were posted on each table, informing each patron about the “Top 5 Reasons to Eradicate Polio:”
The Rotary Club of Roswell found raising funds and awareness for “End Polio Now” seemed natural when paired with drinking wine at Deep Roots Wine Market & Tasting Room in Roswell. Over 30 Roswell Rotarians showed up to socialize and talk about ending polio because “we are just this close."
