President Nancy's Message

Honoring Our Heroes: A Fabulous Memorial Day Program

Roswell Rotary proudly hosted a moving and meaningful Memorial Day program last week, reminding us all of the true purpose of the holiday: to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Dave Young and his dedicated committee for organizing such a thoughtful and powerful event. From the stirring presentation of colors to the solemn moments of remembrance, every detail was handled with care and respect. The program was a beautiful blend of reflection, gratitude, and community spirit, resonating deeply with all in attendance.

Special recognition goes to our speakers and participants who shared personal stories, patriotic songs, and touching tributes. Their contributions helped create an atmosphere of reverence and pride.

Thanks again to Dave and the entire team for their hard work in bringing this important program to life. Roswell Rotary continues to honor service above self, and this Memorial Day event was a shining example of that commitment.

This Thursday: Beth Lehman Shares the Gift of Life Through Organ Donation

Join us this Thursday for a powerful and inspiring program featuring Beth Lehman, a passionate advocate for organ donation. Beth will share her deeply personal story that underscores the life-changing—and life-saving—impact of saying “yes” to organ donation.

As both a donor family member and a spokesperson for LifeLink of Georgia, Beth brings a unique perspective to the conversation. Her message is one of hope, healing, and the extraordinary power of generosity. You’ll learn how one decision can create a ripple effect that touches countless lives.

This is a program you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re already registered as an organ donor or just curious to learn more, Beth’s story will leave you inspired and informed.

Invite a guest and join us for a meeting that reminds us all of the incredible ways we can make a difference.

This Thursday, Kaho will give her heartfelt final presentation before returning to Japan, sharing reflections on her time with us.

Live Organ Donations
Speaker Thursday

It's Personal

The decision to become an organ donor is an individual one.  Personally, I cannot say I ever thought about it.   I signed up to be and organ donor when I turned 16 and got my driver's license because it was the right thing to do.

But now, it is different.   Had my donor not made the choice to selflessly give the gift of life, I may not be here today.   They tell me I did not have long...

And so begins Beth's story of life and death and the gift of life from an organ donor. Thursday, hear Beth's story as only she can tell it. As well as information about others who have donated organs. Our own John Albers is a vivid example. Who can forget the picture of John and his son Will on their way to surgery for their kidney transplant?

Roswell Rotarian Kathy Igou's boss at Turknett Leadership Group,  Tim Huff, recently donated a kidney-to a client! When we talk about service above self, live organ donations take service to another level!

Come hear Beth's story and learn more about live organ donations. This would be a great meeting to bring along a friend!
