President John's Message

My Bulldog friends are celebrating an SEC Championship win at the fabulous Mercedes Benz stadium.  They have visions of championship trophies dancing in their heads in anticipation of the College Football Playoff semi-final in the Peach Bowl later this month.

What a great time to have the football world focused on our city and our magnificent stadium.  This week we will hear from one of the men who built Mercedes Benz Stadium, Pete Permantell with Holder Construction.

And remember to -
•     Bring gifts for children served by North Fulton Community Charities this week.
•     Sign up for our Holiday Party on December 9th.  Just a few spots remain.
•     Warm up the vocal cords for Caroling on Canton Street on December 14th.

You can find information and links to sign up for these below.

Gems form Greenway
Past President - Cheryl Greenway - 2005-06

In 2005, Hurricane Katrina slammed New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Rotary responded with monetary and volunteer aid.  Roswell Rotary received a Global Grant for the first water project our club undertook in Central America.  Leading our club that year was Cheryl Greenway.  This week Cheryl shares with us about the Rotary year 2005-06.  Get there early and check out Cheryl’s scrapbook and the photos on the big screen before the meeting.

Roswell Teen Talks Podcast Program-How to Share!

Roswell Rotary recently launched the Roswell Teen Talk Podcast Series because today’s Roswell students say being a teen has never been more challenging. Parents struggle with ways to help their teens navigate through today’s environment. Listen to their struggles and learn how to help with tips from professional mental health experts, teachers and parents. This series is Phase 1 (of 3) of a partnership between the WellStar Foundation and Roswell Rotary.  Roswell Rotary (THAT MEANS YOU AND ME!!) will be the boots on the ground to get the message out to students and parents throughout our community and beyond.  This content is FREE and our goal is to share it with EVERYONE!  Here’s what you do:

RRAH's Next Meeting is Tonight: Toy Drive & Gate City Tour

The final After Hours meeting of the year will held tonight, Tuesday, December 6th at 6:30 at the Artillery Room. The guest speaker will be Rotarian Pat Rains who will speak on entrepreneurship and lead a private tour of Gate City! This meeting is extra special because the club is collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Bring an unwrapped toy suitable for children 12 and under and you will receive a free beer!

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 17th.

RRAH Grocery Bag Drive

Do you have piles of grocery store bags clumped up in your pantry? Do you hate throwing your bags away after a big trip to Publix or Kroger? Good news! Now is the time to do something helpful (and green!) with your used grocery bags! After Hours is hosting a Grocery Bag Drive to benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center Unity Garden. The Unity Garden is in need of these bags as they play a role in transportation and fostering plant growth.

Please give your bags to any RRAH member. You can also bring them to the next in-person RRAH meeting TONIGHT!
