FAMILY OF ROTARY
Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com
It goes without saying that I didn’t sleep much the night before the golf and tennis tournament. I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve and our fundraiser lived up to all the hype leading up to our day. Coach McFarlin, Rich Austin and crew did a fantastic job this year bringing in some heavy hitters from the NFL and MLB. The weather cooperated and despite playing two less holes, everyone I spoke to had a great time. It won’t be known for some time how much money we raised for our charities, but one thing is for sure, we accomplished our goal of creating a very well-organized fun filled event.
You can never say “thank you” enough so THANK YOU! again to all our sponsors, and to everyone who volunteered their time, talent, and treasures to this year’s event.
This week we won’t have our normal meeting, so if you come to the Roswell Area Park on Thursday and get a great parking space, don’t say we didn’t tell ya so. Please join us for our next meeting on September 23rd when we hear about how the Atlanta Angels are doing great things by helping families in the foster care community.
No words to express the gratitude for all of the hard work from our club members and so many others that contributed to the success of our Roswell Rotary Golf & Tennis Tournament this year. Led by Tim McFarlin, 2021 Tournament Chair, this was truly a Club-wide effort. And way too many people to thank to get it right. So for right now, while we are all still glowing from the results of all the efforts and recovering from a long day on the course and courts and maybe even a little too much Haganade, let's think the amazing things that will happen with the $$$$$ we raised through this tournament.
Click Here or scan the QR code above to check out pictures from the tournament. Many thanks to Rotarians Gary Garrett, Dazia Fumbah and prospective member Ian Mari for all the wonderful memories. Enjoy!!!!
Because of this club, so many deserving people will have better lives. The multiplier effect of Roswell Rotary grants will be felt all throughout our community and beyond. Please take a few minutes to listen to Nancy Diamond talk about our charities and the difference you have just made with your support of the 2021 Golf & Tennis Tournament. Click Here for Video
Join us for a the RIVERS ALIVE fall river cleanup of the beautiful Roswell section of the Chattahoochee.
Registration will be at 8:30am and the event will last about 3 hours or until you've collected all the trash you can haul. This is a perfectly suited socially distanced outdoor service opportunity for our club. Additionally it promises to be a lot of fun for a good cause. Our own clean river advocate Dutch Earle is, as usual, organizing our group however will be unable to attend that particular morning. Dutch asks that you contact him early to sign up so we can provide a head count.
While this link lists 100 research articles how walking it good for you, Rotary is making it fun.
We’re joining up with the national “Walk with a Doc” program for a 2 mile and a 3.5 mile walk at the Chattahoochee Nature Center. In addition to the 100 reasons to walk, the 101st is to make room for Roswell Rotary’s fried chicken for lunch.
And there are several bonuses to participating in this community event
• Get advice from this month’s presenter, A Step Ahead’s physical therapist Kim Richards. Before we walk, she’ll give a 10 minute talk on ‘life hacks to keeping you moving pain free.’ She’ll then join us on the walk so that you can talk with her 1-on-1.
• Free admission to the Nature Center, including free parking. And you’re welcome to stay after the walk and enjoy more of the Nature Center’s beautiful and educational facilities.
• Earn credits for free coffee at Roswell’s Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee
• The walk will end next to the Nature Center’s semi-annual plant sale, should you be looking for winter plants and vegetables
Note: The Nature Center is at 9135 Willeo Rd, Roswell, GA 30075. Because of bridge construction, you must enter from the Roswell side; it is not accessible from the Cobb Co. side. Sat, Sep 25, 8:00 – 9:30am.

We’re Back and Need YOUR HELP!
Rotary Youth Exchange is shifting into gear to recruit outbound exchange students for the 2022-2023 school year and to recruit host families for our inbound student for that school year.
Please direct any interested people to Alesia Booth alesiagbooth@att.net. You can also direct people to the Rotary Youth Exchange website: ryese.org. (It helps if interested people know we are in District 6900).
We would love a few good volunteers from our club to help with recruiting and other activities related to Rotary Youth Exchange. You need to be an approved volunteer to interact with the inbound and outbound students – it is a U.S. State Department requirement. Becoming an approved volunteer involves a background check and a short State Department training – ALL ONLINE! Very Easy!! Please let Alesia know if you are interested in helping with this AMAZING program!!
This is what make earns Roswell Roswell such a great reputation
....and "Club of the Year" recognition.
Plan to attend.....and think about bringing a friend or prospective new member.
If you believe in Rotary's mission and recognize the value our club brings to our community and our world, then share it with others!
