Roswell Rotary Brings Home the Awards!
Last weekend, a group of Roswell Rotarians made the trip down to Destin to represent our club and returned with awards to celebrate another great year for Roswell. Although the District did not award a Club of the Year Award this year, Roswell Rotary did very well. Past District Governor Bob Hagan was awarded the Meritorious Service Award for his work on Polio Plus and numerous other service projects in the District. This award was chosen by the Rotary Foundation Committee! Past President, Becky Stone was awarded the Rotarian of the Year Award for the District. There are almost 4,000 Rotarians in our district and she is one of 4.000! And finally, your President was awarded the Sheffield Leadership Award. I am humbled and honored. None of these awards could have happened without the strong support of our great club. Thank you Roswell Rotary for doing what we do best, giving back to the community and having fun doing so.
What do Mittie Bulloch and Bulloch Hall have to do with Teddy Roosevelt? Why is shopping at Mittie's Gift and Museum Shoppe so unique and amazing? Come to the May 5th Roswell Rotary Meeting and discover the answers and more directly from Bob, Jacque, Karen, and Pam.
Friends of Bulloch, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1995 and dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Bulloch Hall (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and an authentic, well curated interpretation of the Bulloch family. It was the childhood home of Mittie Bulloch, mother of the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt.
Robert Hagan is President of Friends of Bulloch, Inc. and several fellow Rotarians are on the board. Friends of Bulloch, Inc. has raised millions of dollars that have reconstructed, restored, preserved and maintained the site to include the two reconstructed quarters, carriage house, summer house, pavilion, terrace & fireplace, and Museum Shop and also purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of 1839 period furnishings, window treatments and textiles for Bulloch Hall.
Upcoming on May 21st is the 37th Annual Magnolia Ball, the primary fundraiser for Bulloch Hall. A beautiful dinner and dance are being planned at the Atlanta Country Club. The latest fundraising efforts have been the construction of a timber frame Blacksmith Shop which will be completed before the Magnolia Ball and a beautiful pergola entrance to Orchard Hill.
The former Museum Shop has been transitioned to charming Mittie's Gift & Museum Shoppe with unique and desirable merchandise that you will want for yourself as well as to buy for gifts. All proceeds from Mittie's support the preservation and restoration of Bulloch Hall. For more information about Friends of Bulloch, Inc. go to www.friendsofbulloch.org

After having a lot of fun (maybe TOO much fun) last week at Alive in Roswell (see picture with our awesome President, Terry!) we got down to business this week and had a Board meeting. With so many fresh and exciting ideas floating around, it was time to nail down some activities and get to work serving our community! We met Sunday afternoon at Variant and had a very productive meeting. We planned three months’ worth of projects and events! Stay posted for opportunities to get involved!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, May 3 at 6:30 at The Artillery Room @ Gate City where we will unveil all our exciting event schedule! Fabulous Ian will also be there taking headshots. And, a few new members will be initiated in Rotary After Hours!
Mark your calendars for an extra special After Hours meeting coming up. Help us pack the house on June 7 as bestselling author Chris Tuff will be our guest speaker!
"Not Much" is the too-common answer to 'what will get your out on the house on a Saturday morning?"
So here are multiple reasons:
If you want to look like President Terry and the many other svelte Rotarians, this is what the doctor ordered. :-)
Our walk will be at the Hyde Farm Park Trail-a great trail along and crossing a quiet creek, along with one hill to challenge you a bit. Fascinating history viewing old farm buildings.
726 Hyde Rd, Marietta, GA 30068 <> https://www.atlantatrails.com/hiking-trails/johnson-ferry-trail/
Note: Our June walk will be Sat, Jun 4 at 8:30am.

This is an opportunity for you or someone on your staff who needs to network and generate revenue, or someone you are interested in recruiting to Roswell Rotary that needs to network with Rotarians:
This is networking with people who have the integrity of the 4 Way Test! This is why Paul Harris formed Rotary for 1905. Professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas, form meaningful, lifelong friendships, and conduct business together.
Our last gathering again drew a crowd from the Atlanta Metro, Dunwoody, Peachtree City, Roswell, Sandy Springs and Tucker clubs.
While Rotary is about "Service Above Self," there is a growing place for networking in Rotary, particularly for those responsible for generating revenue.
Location: 5 Minutes inside 285 and Ashford-Dunwoody Rd
