Join us this Friday as we welcome Justin Campbell, the Director of Studio Operations for Gray Television. You can join us live at LeMeridien or on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89796844807
Justin manages the day-to-day operations of Third Rail
Studios in Doraville, GA and is involved with Gray’s expansion of its soundstage portfolio at Assembly Studios.
Justin is a lifelong resident
of Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2010. After spending
over a decade in physical production for film and television series in the
Atlanta area for companies such as CBS, Netflix, ABC and FOX, Justin joined
Gray Television in January of 2022 and is thrilled be a part of Gray’s growing
presence in the thriving film and television industry in Georgia.
Thanks to Rick Otness, Ranger Fred Bounds, Bob O'Brien and Dave Burr (who left before the photo) for keeping Bounds Garden a picture-perfect part of Dunwoody! As Fred explained last Friday, this traffic island on Chamblee Dunwoody across from the library has been a Rotary Club of Dunwoody project since former member Monroe Brock got us started more than 20 years ago. Mark your calendar now for Saturday, October 22!
Last Saturday, 12 of us headed to the vineyards of North Georgia - including President Jennifer and Jud Shumway, George and Amy Stewart, Tina and David Philpott, Ed and Judy Holliday, Jackie Cuthbert, Cathie Brumfield, Carter Stout and his friend Luke. We sampled wines with crazy names ... from Sassy Sisters to Social Goat at Cartecay Vineyards (owned by Susan Schwall's nephew) and Fainting Goat Winery, and enjoyed a delightful lunch in between in downtown Ellijay. It was great just spending time together.
Thanks to Carter Stout for organizing the trip, and to Jud Shumway, David Philpot and Cathie Brumfield for driving. Watch for upcoming news about the Dunwoody Wine Fellowship!
September marks the launch of our second whiskey raffle - the "Exclusive Whiskey Raffle." Watch for the launch of our raffle website - still under development and testing.
We will have three new whiskey-bourbons to raffle off and will be looking to sell 150 tickets for each segment with drawings taking place on Thirsty Thursday in October, November and December. Proceeds will our General Fund for community activities, projects and support.
The three
spirits are:
No cigar pairing this time. More to come about QR cards, tent cards and social media marketing plans.
After our Rotary trip to North Georgia wineries yesterday, our designated driver David Philpot took us to Northside Cherokee Hospital on the way home. Tina and George went in to see Teak and witness the signing of his medical directive. He looked well, but his feet and legs were very swollen and the injuries on his feet due to wearing compression hose for too long are still not completely healed.
Teak plans to go home
when released rather than to another rehab facility. He appreciates getting calls on his cell phone
(404-256-2724).
Here's a way to keep up with all that's happening with the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. If you would like to add an event - or add a story to the bulletin, send an email to Jackie Cuthbert at cuthbert@mindspring.com by Tuesday evening.
