FAMILY OF ROTARY
Our membership cares deeply about the needs and concerns of our members. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out in friendship when such concerns arise. The chairperson of this committee is Lynn Dunn and all news should be directed to her at lynn.dunn@rmcpa.com
Rotary started on February 23, 1905 in Chicago, Illinois. During Harvey Smith’s presidential year we celebrated RI’s 100th anniversary. Our Leadership 2020 banquet keynote speaker was Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A. Come find out what else happened in the Rotary year 2004-05 when we hear from Harvey Smith. And get there early and check out scrapbook photos on the big screen before the meeting.
Do you have piles of grocery store bags clumped up in your pantry? Do you hate throwing your bags away after a big trip to Publix or Kroger? Good news! Now is the time to do something helpful (and green!) with your used grocery bags! After Hours is hosting a Grocery Bag Drive to benefit the Chattahoochee Nature Center Unity Garden. The Unity Garden is in need of these bags as they play a role in transportation and fostering plant growth.
Please give your bags to any RRAH member. You can also bring them to the next in-person RRAH meeting on Tuesday, December 6.
The final After Hours meeting of the year will held Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30 at the Artillery Room. The guest speaker will be Rotarian Pat Rains who will speak on entrepreneurship and lead a private tour of Gate City! This meeting is extra special because the club is collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Bring an unwrapped toy suitable for children 12 and under and you will receive a free beer!
December 9, 2022 from 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

As we reflect on the good fortune and bounty that we have and that is Roswell Rotary, we remain aware that others are less fortunate, and we have the opportunity to help.
Many of us are familiar with the Star Thrower (Starfish) Story, reminding us that even seemingly small actions can make a world of difference.
We'll be collecting toys at our Dec. 1 and 8 meetings. NFCC has a shopping list on their website. Every year they struggle with gifts for teenagers. This is their biggest need (gift cards, pullovers, teen stuff). Here is their shopping list- https://www.amazon.com/hz/charitylist/ls/36W2TCHAFRYA5?ref_=smi_se_cl_u_rd_www
Roswell Rotary is a sponsor again this year with the Roswell Historical Society for the annual wreath laying at the graves of our local veterans as part of Wreaths Across America.
We need 8 volunteers from Roswell Rotary to help lay wreaths at the Old Roswell Cemetery on Saturday, December 17th from 11 AM to Noon. Please RSVP by Dec. 2nd to Matt Millard mmillard@millardinc.net if you would like to participate.
Job Seekers meet in person for help with interviewing skills, resume writing, LinkedIn, troubleshooting your job search, and fantastic networking opportunities. We exist to teach job seekers how to begin and sustain a job search while providing essential emotional support and encouragement!
We are lining up employers for the job fair and will announce once they are confirmed. December 12 also includes an outstanding lineup of workshops starting at 3:00 p.m., dinner with speaker TBD at 5:30 p.m. and the job fair from 6:45 to 8:00 p.m. Seating for dinner starts at 5:30 p.m., dinner served at 5:45 p.m. and dinner speaker at 6:00 p.m.
Are you interested in bringing your jobs to this job fair or do you know of an employer in need of employees? If so, please contact Karen Griggs Medley, Job Networking Coordinator, at kgriggs@rumc.com or 770-261-1739. More information can be found on our website at www.rumcjobnetworking.com. Please also check the Rotoscope for updates.

Roswell Rotarians and Friends!
Roswell Rotary recently announced the launch of the Roswell Teen Talk Podcast Series because today’s Roswell students say being a teen has never been more challenging. Parents struggle with ways to help their teens navigate through today’s environment. Listen to their struggles and learn how to help with tips from professional mental health experts, teachers and parents. This series is Phase 1 (of 3) of a partnership between the WellStar Foundation and Roswell Rotary. Roswell Rotary (THAT MEANS YOU AND ME!!) will be the boots on the ground to get the message out to students and parents throughout our community and beyond. This content is FREE and our goal is to share it with EVERYONE! Here’s what you do:
