There is no cost for Thomasville Rotary members, but there is a $20 charge for spouses and guests. There will be no regular club meeting on Thursday, Dec. 5. Ending Thursday, Dec. 5! Rotary Online Auction Our online auction to help fund our club's community service, youth projects and other programs throughout the year will end Thursday, Dec. 5.
More than 50 items have been donated, including vacation stays, merchandise, dining experiences at unique venues, jewelry, art, antiques, designer items, guns, and more.
Please share the auction with your friends and family on social media to ensure we earn as much as we can from our fundraising. Non-local friends can arrange shipping when they win their bids.
Dec. 9-Dec. 13 Mark Your Calendar: Salvation Army Bell RingingPlease mark your calendars for Monday, Dec. 9 through Friday, Dec. 13. Rotary members will ring the bell for the Salvation Army throughout the week. Be on the lookout for sign-up opportunities coming soon.
Monday, Dec. 9 Board MeetingThe board will meet Monday, Dec. 9 at 5:15 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce. Members are welcome to attend and all directors should attend, or have someone from their area of responsibility attend on their behalf. Remember: All red-ribbon members should attend at least one board meeting during their time as a red-ribbon member. Thursday, Dec. 12 Caily O'Connor, Recreational TherapistOur guest speaker for Thursday, Dec. 12 is Caily O'Conner, Licensed Recreational Therapist, CTRS-Specialization in Behavioral Health, who works at the Sgt. Earnest I. "Boots" Thomas VA Clinic in Tallahassee. She will discuss HUD-VASH, a collaboration between HUD's Housing Choice Voucher (VCH) rental assistance program and Veterans Administration case management and supporting services. Most veterans served by the program have been homeless or transient at some point. A Hands & Hearts for Horses partner for the past six months, Caily will speak specifically to her work as a recreational therapist and how alternative therapies help veterans cope with mental health challenges.
