Join us at the Embassy Suites this Friday to hear inspiring words from this year's Laws of Life essay contest winners. Our own George Stewart has been a driving force in the Georgia Laws of Life program and will start us off with some words about the program. Then be ready for inspiration from some Dunwoody High School contest winners., who will be joined by the Dunwoody High principal.
Our club has been a long-time and enthusiastic Laws of Life sponsor, where high school students have an opportunity each year to write about a life event or person who has helped to shape them as individuals - each with a quote or phrase they select as their theme. We have provided prize money from our weekly raffle, served on the Board and judged essays since the program's start in Georgia.
You can download the 2024-25 Laws of Life Essay collection at www.georgialawsoflife.org - and while you are there, see how you can participate in the Georgia Laws of Life Honor Society.
This weekend, Dunwoody Village will be transformed into a vibrant artist’s market. And in Dunwoody Rotary tradition, we are helping with artist set-up on Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning, and hosting a booth Saturday and unsay at the festival to tell our Rotary story.
On May 19, we hope to have 90-100 golfers teeing off in the fourth annual FORE! The Memories golf tournament at St. Marlo - in support of the Georgia Alzheimer’s Association “The Longest Day,” Anchor Place Respite Care, and our Rotary Club of Dunwoody Charitable Fund. We’re down to the details:
Our club is fortunate to have a member with a truly diverse and inspiring background. Ray Huebbschmann joined the Rotary Club of Dunwoody in 208 while serving as a professor at Georgia Perimeter Collee, Dunwoody Campus. He is a heavy lifter when it comes to service projects and helping others, and in the field of weightlifting. Read more of Ray’s story. [more]
