Roy Wise sent an interesting article from the Washington Examiner regarding people craving interaction and the role of volunteer organizations. gary Lane liked it, and suggested we run it in the Club Bulletin. That article can be read in its entirety, which I would recommend, by following this link.

For those interested in an abridged version, here are the last two paragraphs from the article.
"Part of America’s greatness comes from our willingness to strengthen, foster, grow and promote our localities. Our exceptionalism has never come from politics, or government, a new impulse that neither educates our democracy nor restores our faith in each other, it might be time to redirect our energies and reflect on where to better utilize them.
You could start at your local Rotary Club."
The District Presidents and AG's gathered on 06/30/18 in Columbus GA to celebrate the end of FY 2018, and to honor Clubs for their achievements. The Rotary Club of Dunwoody (RCD) was recognized for three separate achievements.
ØRI President's Citation
We earned 17 points which qualified for Silver status (16-19 points, out of a possible 25 points). Three Clubs in the District earned Platinum level awards (i.e. had earned at least 24 of the 25 possible points). Sandy Springs and Thomasville each had 24 points with Roswell scoring a perfect 25 points.
ØStrengthen Club citation (for being the sponsor of a Rotaract Club that achieved RI Presidents Citation )
Rotaract Club of Atlanta earned the RI President Citation. As the Club that sponsored/started their Club, we were recognized.
(Note, Roswell had 4 interact clubs that it has sponsored)
