No Meeting January 11

No meeting this week as we are hosting the GRSP Leadership Weekend at Oglethorpe University. The festivities begin at noon on Friday as the students arrive and end on Sunday at noon. It is a jam-packed weekend of lectures, tours, entertainment and bonding. It’s a great time. Please join us.

Volunteer opportunity

On January 21, the Dunwoody Nature Center is hosting a day of service to honor Dr. Martin Luther King. If you’ll remember, there used to be a teepee located next to the drive coming into the park. With all recent construction and change in the area the teepee was removed. In its place will be an eco-classroom made from used shipping containers. It’s a beautiful design and we need to clean up the area where the teepee was. This is what the day of service of all about. There is plenty to do for all ages and abilities. Here’s the link if you want to sign up: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mlk-jr-day-of-service...

The 2018 Holiday Luncheon

The 2018 Holiday Luncheon was a complete success. The outpouring of generosity in support of Toys for Tots was fantastic. The venue and the food were superb. The Dresden Choir was outstanding. Thank you all for coming. And, congratulations once again, to Jennie Stipick as the recipient of the Bill Mulkey Giving Award.

Our annual expense for GRSP

As a follow-up to the most recent Club Assembly you’ll be receiving an email asking you to weigh in on the future of GRSP for the club. Our annual expense for GRSP exceeds $10,000 and the club needs to approve the expenditure. Please respond to the email promptly. You’ll also be asked your opinion on our participation in the GRSP Pilot Program for 2019-2020.
