The Rotary Club of Columbus recently partnered with Feeding the Valley Food Bank for a community service project that delivered big impact. In just one morning, club members and their families packed 358 food boxes, providing meals for an estimated 5,000 people across the Chattahoochee Valley.
Volunteers of all ages — including one of the youngest helpers at just two years old — worked side by side to assemble boxes filled with essential items for families in need. The effort highlighted the club’s commitment to Service Above Self and the vital role Feeding the Valley plays in addressing food insecurity in the region.
Rotary Club President Alan Harkness praised the turnout and spirit of the day, saying, “It was inspiring to see so many of our members and their families come together. Serving alongside one another to help our neighbors is at the heart of what Rotary stands for.”
The Rotary Club of Columbus continues to champion multigenerational service and remains dedicated to strengthening the community through hands-on volunteer efforts like this one.
