PDG Bob and Amanda Grant at District 6900 Conference in Sandestin
With great sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of PDG Robert W. "Bob" Grant.
Bob served as our District Governor in 1985-1986. He was an active member of Rotary Club of Stone Mountain for many years before he and his wife Amanda retired to Foley, Alabama.
Bob and PDG Bill Mulkey were the best of friends - and co-founders of the DeKalb Rotary Council. The Council presents an award each year in Bob's honor to a deserving Rotarian who is a member of one of the Council's clubs in honor of Bob's Service Above Self. It is called the PDG Rotary W. Grant "YOU ARE THE KEY" award (the RI theme for his year as Governor).
Bob was an Honorary Member of both the Rotary Club of Stone Mountain and Rotary Club of Dunwoody, where he installed Dunwoody's officers for many years (including my year as president), up to his move to Alabama.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Amanda and Bob's family, and we join with them as they mourn the passing of this great man and celebrate his life.
