Henry County Collects Electronics and Medical Equipment for FODAC

In August, the Rotary Club of Henry County sponsored its First Annual Electronics and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Recycling Event to benefit Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). The event was held at the First Baptist Church of McDonough, and collected almost $200,000 of gently used DME (like wheelchairs, shower seats, patient lifts, walkers, crutches and rollators) from community donors, including two pediatric power chairs. The club also collected used electronics; FODAC will sell working pieces in its thrift store, and the non-working pieces will go to recyclers. In both cases, funds will benefit FODAC’s mission of providing DME at little to no cost to the recipients.
