DeKalb Rotary Council Collects Medical Equipment for FODAC

More than 60 DeKalb Rotary Council volunteers joined together on a late July Saturday to make the annual FODAC Equipment Drive another successful one. Thanks to the Rotary Club of North Atlanta for its leadership and to the Rotary Clubs of Atlanta Metro, Brookhaven, Decatur, Dunwoody, Emory Clifton, Emory Druid Hills, Emory Rotaract, South DeKalb, Stone Mountain and Tucker! This project is only successful due to the collaborative efforts of all the clubs involved. And we had fun while we were making a difference!

The group collects a variety of medical equipment - Manual & Electric Wheelchairs (including footrests), Scooters, Standers, Adaptive Strollers, Corner chairs, Gait trainers, Rollators, Shower supports, Toilet supports, Therapy aides, Specialized mattresses (no regular mattresses), Walkers, Canes, Crutches, & Forearm Crutches, Bathing aids, Braces, Air casts, Hoyer lifts, Hospital beds. Donated equipment is brought back to FODAC facility for repair, refurbishment and distribution to people who need it in our community and around the world.

The Council has not yet received the total dollar amount of equipment that collected in this year's drive, but all indications are that this year’s amount will put this project over the $1 Million mark for cumulative equipment collected.
