Alpharetta Rotarians Present Financial Literacy Courses Next Saturday

“Literacy” can mean anything from third grade reading skills to graduate study. For purpose of these sessions, literacy means “understanding the language” and knowing how to navigate” the subject matter. The course is comprised of 2, one-hour sessions. Handouts and reference materials are provided with area for notes. Time will be available at the end of each session for questions & discussion.

  • 101 COVERS ESSENTIAL HOW TO’S: • Bank accounts, checks & payments • Credit, credit ratings & credit scores • Debit cards and electronic payments • Basic budgeting • Employment basics • Entitlement vs. Enablement
  • 102 COVERS IMPORTANT HOW DO’S: • Career choices • Savings, investing and speculation • The miracle of compound interest • Borrowing • Pawn brokers • Credit cards • School loans • Car loans • Mortgages • The privilege of choice
The courses will take place Sunday, September 15 at the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA in Alpharetta in the Summit Room. Course 101 is 2:00-3:00 pm and Course 102 is 3:00-4:00 pm.
