The Bainbridge Rotary Club was recently recognized by the International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians (IFSR) with a Youth Service Award as a result of an article published in the December 3, 2019 , The Post Searchlight. IFSR s a Rotary Fellowship promoting service to Youth through Scouting and Guiding.
The article featured the work of two Bainbridge Rotarians, Margueritte Jackson and Mark Milhollin, who are also very active in Scouting. The two talked at a recent Rotary meeting about their work with the scouts. Both worked as as volunteers at the 24th World Scout Jamboree held July 22 to August 2, 2019, and Mark reported that participants practiced target shooting, using 1.5 million rounds of ammunition “and no one was injured.” Margueritte gave a Bainbridge scouting update, beginning with the Jones Wheat open house where they registered 40 cub scouts and 39 adult leaders.
The Bainbridge provides financial support for some of the scouts' activities.
