Lake Spivey/Clayton County Welcomes Well-Connected Author to Speak

The Rotary Club of Lake Spivey/Clayton County began the new year with Mr Kiran Bhat as its first speaker. Mr. Bhat describes himself as a global citizen. He is a 2011 graduate of New York University in global politics and literary history. He also has done additional study in teaching English as a foreign language, which enables him to work as a teacher of English to many different populations during his extensive travels. Truly a global citizen and a polyglot, he has traveled to 130 countries, has lived in more than a dozen countries, and speaks 12 languages.

An author of several books, Mr Bhat has just launched a national tour to promote his latest book and first novel, We of the Forsaken World, which he is holding in the adjacent photograph as he speaks to the Club. We of the Forsaken World describes the complex and often chaotic circumstances of "four worlds falling apart" as witnessed by four people and narrated through 16 stories that may stand alone but which effectively connect to form the novel.

We are proud to say that while Mr. Bhat is an authentic global citizen, he also is one of our own. His parents are Dr. Annapurna and Dr. Subramanya Bhat of Lost Valley in Jonesboro, both of whom are fellow members of the Lake Spivey/Clayton County Club.
