April 14 Celebration Honoring Rotary First Lady Gay Maloney and RI President Mark Maloney

Dear Club Presidents and Assistant Governors:

Our Georgia Rotary Districts have the honor of hosting First Lady of Rotary Gay Maloney and RI President Mark Maloney on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. Our First Lady is an Agnes Scott College alumna – and we are delighted to be able to welcome her home.

About the Event

The event celebrates The Rotary Foundation and Agnes Scott College and the work both have done to make a difference in the world. This event is open to any Georgia Rotarian; please share the attached invitation with your club members.

We will be holding a cocktail reception and dinner with Gay and Mark Maloney:

  • ·Reception: 5:00 – 6:45 pm
  • ·Dinner: 7:00 pm, with music by the Agnes Scott performing groups
  • ·Program: 8:00 – 9:00 pm

The cost of the event is $75 per person – all inclusive. We encourage your club to consider buying a table of eight and using those seats to:

  • ·Thank your Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation
  • ·Inspire new Rotarians
  • ·Recognize Agnes Scott College alumnae in your club
  • ·Invite Rotaractors or GRSP students

The Agnes Scott campus is beautiful – especially in springtime. On campus parking is available, and shuttles will be provided from the parking deck to the event venue.

To Make Reservations: Visit The First Lady Celebration website and click Register Now. The registration site will ask for guest names and meal choices; be sure to allow time to register. Registration is open until April 3.

Help Celebrate Your TRF Donors and Any Agnes Scott College Connections

  • If You Have New Major Donors or Bequest Society Members: Contact your District Foundation Chair by March 22 to coordinate recognition.
  • ·If You Have Agnes Scott College Connections: We are looking for short stories and photos we can share that showcase the difference that Agnes Scott College alumnae are making in the world – if they have a Rotary Connection all the better! One of those alumnae is Molly Wilson, who recently completed her Masters of Science in Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh as a Rotary Global Grant Scholar – and is now spending some of her time helping tell the story of a Global Grant Project in Lebanon where the Rotary Club of Atlanta and CARE International have partnered to address needs within the refugee camps. If you have a story to share, please send information to Jackie Cuthbert at cuthbert@mindspring.com by March 22, 2020.
