Our Rotary Foundation
District 6900 Rotarians are Fantastic!!!

November is Foundation month - something that is no surprise to the Rotarians in our District. District 6900 Rotarians are known throughout our zone and the world for our generous giving to The Rotary Foundation ... and Rotary year 2020-2021 was no exception. In fact, the total giving from the Rotarians in our District during our last Rotary year - not to mention the pandemic - was our second highest ever in total giving. I think this is due to the huge hearts and compassion of our Rotarians.

As you can see in the graphic, The Rotary Foundation has a Four-Star rating in Charity Navigator’s list of top non-profits with a score of 99.4 (out of 100). Less than 10% of the funds are spent on program awards and operations, and you can see from our own statistics how many projects we are able to do all over the world. This is our way of helping our communities and the world. In the 2020-21 Rotary year, The Rotary Foundation raised $400 million worldwide, including $150 million for PolioPlus to help us put an end to this terrible disease.

We had 27 clubs that met the requirements to be EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) clubs for 2020-2021. To do this, a club must reach a minimum Annual Fund contribution of $100 per capita during the Rotary year, and every dues-paying member must personally contribute at least $25 to the Annual Fund during the year.

Thank you to all of these clubs and their membership for their dedication to the Rotary Foundation. Thanks to everyone that made donations to the Foundation because every dollar counts.

Please check other stories in this newsletter about our Rotary Foundation at work - including stories about Polio Day events, a Global Grant in Panama, a District Grant in Griffin, and our Global Scholar in . Then continue to check the District Newsletter each month for articles that highlight the work being done thanks to our participation in The Rotary Foundation.

Again, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!.

You are all an inspiration!
