Where he's From: Born at Crawford W Long Hospital on Peachtree Street in 1960; moved from East Point to Marietta in 1966.

Education: Graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1979 in the same class as Chris Archer. His father was a businessman with a commercial laundry and dry cleaning locations around Atlanta including one on Cobb Parkway next to T&E clothing which was owned by Eddie Smith. Attended the University of Georgia and Athens during the Herschel Walker and Dominique Wilkins years. Enjoyed two Sugar Bowls and the first national championship for the Bulldogs.

First jobs: As a sophomore he worked as a disc jockey at the campus radio station in Athens, WUOG. Also was an intern one summer in Washington DC for Representative Buddy Darden. Graduated with a BBA in Marketing in 1983.

Career: Worked in the family business for a few years and decided to try the radio business again except on the sale side, selling advertising. Started at small stations in Jasper and Ellijay in 1987 then took a job at the leading radio station in Savannah and was there from 1989 to 1993.  While in Savannah he was active in the civic organization The Jaycees for several years. After a few Saint Patrick days and time on Tybee Island moved to Charlotte, NC and had a radio advertising job there for three years. Then moved to Raleigh, NC as a sales manager for radio stations there. In 2000, decided to come back to Atlanta to be near family and help senior parents.

Back to ATL: In Atlanta, he was a Senior Account Executive at WSB radio for three years.  During that time he married Jennifer Sherwood who is a Norcross native and a dentist with a practice in Cumming, Georgia. Moved from WSB radio to Kicks 101.5 and Eagle 106.7 in 2003 and was there for 10 years. In 2013 moved to iHeart radio and has been there for 10 years.

Family: Jennifer and Steve have two sons that attend Greater Atlanta Christian school and are in 9th and 11th grade.

How he heard about RRC: Over the last 10 years Alan Christian has been telling Steve about all the great work and relationships he has had at Roswell Rotary.  Because of that and Steve’s positive experiences with Jaycee’s in Savannah he decided to join Rotary this year.

He looks forward to being a part of the next chapter of Roswell Rotary growth and contribution to the community. And we know our club is eager to welcome him into the RRC family!
