Last week’s meeting was not what we normally call a meeting. But that did not keep the Rotary Club of Thomasville members from taking advantage of a unique opportunity presented to them. As most of you know, the club was invited to take a tour of the new Archbold Advanced Therapy and Sports Medicine facility. For those of us who took the tour, we left quite impressed. The only such facilities in the area are those found at Florida State and maybe Valdosta State. This is definitely the place you want to use if you have any rehab to be done.
Some might ask, “Why forsake our meeting and visit this facility?” We try to take advantage of each opportunity opened to us by Rotary. As Rotarians, this tour gives us a presence in our community. We need to keep abreast of what is going on around us. We need to also be aware of what is available to the community. The more informed we are, the better able we are to make a difference in our community and the world. Remember, “Today is not just another day. It’s a new opportunity, another chance, a new beginning. Embrace it.” Anonymous

"We Are All Ignorant"
Challenging what most of us assume to be verifiable truths in areas like history, literature, science, nature, and more, Ron has a compendium of how little we actually know about anything.
It’ll have you scratching your head wondering why we even bother to go to school.
Planning for the 75th anniversary of the Georgia Rotary Student Program Conclave (GRSP) and the dedication of the GRSP Peace Plaza and Will Watt Fountain began in Thomasville recently when the 75TH Anniversary Committee began to lay plans for the three-day student conclave this coming August.
Will Watt, Sr. began the Georgia Rotary Student Program as a member of the Thomasville Rotary Club at the conclusion of World War II. He founded GRSP to promote worldwide peace. Some 75 years later well over 3,000 students have traveled to Georgia from around the world to study in Georgia universities and colleges as a result of GRSP. During the 75th Anniversary event over 300 Rotarians and their guests will be in Thomasville to attend the event and honor the memory of Will Watt, the founder of GRSP.
