By Kay Williamson As the college football season unfolded, the Rotary Club of Meriwether County and passionate "friends of Rotary" enthusiastically chose a college football team to rally behind and cheer for. Throughout this exciting season, members came together at Rotary meetings to passionately discuss and record their team's weekly scores, building camaraderie and friendly competition among them. By the conclusion of the regular football season, the Rotarians' commitment shone through as they collectively decided to donate an amount equal to their team’s total points scored throughout the season. An impressive $5,504 was raised, reflecting their love for the game and their dedication to supporting the Foundation in their names. [more] |

By Angela Smith The Americus Rotary Club continued its annual tradition of providing its community an opportunity to get photos with Santa in the historic Windsor Hotel in downtown Americus. In addition to hosting families for hot chocolate and cookies while they wait to see the jolly one himself, children are treated to gift bags with color crayons and coloring books. Rotary has a photographer on hand to take pictures and parents are welcome to take pictures as well. December's event saw 91 children come through to visit with Santa. [more] |

By Kay Williamson Meriwether County Rotary Club embraced the spirit of giving by organizing a heartfelt event called Santa for Seniors. This event brought joy to the residents of the Warm Springs Nursing Home and Mountain View Assisted Living Facility by delivering Christmas gifts to each resident. In an incredible display of community spirit, Santa Rotarians, Woman's Club, and Kiwanis Club members generously distributed over ninety beautifully crafted gift bags, each with delightful surprises to spread holiday cheer. By Ada Wikina A new Peacebuilder Club is born! The Rotary Club of North Cobb is now also a Peacebuilder Club. The club got its certificate from the Rotary Action Group For Peace (RAGFP). As we celebrate the installing of yet another Peace Pole on the Marietta village of MUST MINISTRIES our club is committed to further. Jeff Bass, who is our champion for the installation of peace Poles says, we are engaging our community to imbibe inner peace, spread the message of peace to any and every one we come in contact with. Peace is not only the absence of war; it is reaching out and providing service to those around us and also to those we may never meet but sharing love through all avenues available to us. [more] |

May 9 & 10 | Acworth, GA
By Jose Gonzalez Join the North Cobb Rotary Club in hosting their annual fundraiser, Smoke on the Lake on May 9th and May 10th. This event is held the Friday night and Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend at Logan Farm Park, in Acworth, GA. The club partners with local municipality, business associations and major food vendors including Publix to put on the event. Participants can purchase taster tickets on Friday night to taste and vote for the best chicken wings crowning our Lord of the Wings champion. Taster tickets are sold on Saturday for the Tasters Choice Pork contest. Friday night also offers a FREE concert hosted by 293 band. We hope to see you there. [more] |

By Jackie Cuthbert Dunwoody Rotarians are embarking on their fourth annual FORE the Memories Golf Tournament - scheduled for May 19 at St. Marlo Country Club. The Georgia Alzheimer's Association and Anchor Place Respite Care in Dunwoody will be two of the tournament's major beneficiaries, along with the Rotary Club of Dunwoody Charitable Fund. Co-chairs Bob O'Brien and Charlie Augello hope to raise at least $50,000 in this year's event.Golfers and individuals who would like to help sponsor our causes are invited to contact either of our co-chairs.
