Bread Run - North Fulton Community Charities
This is a MAJOR on-going service project with huge impact to the community
Project Occurs 316 times per year -Six days a week, a member of Alpharetta Rotary picks up excess bakery products from local supermarkets and delivers it to NFCC (North Fulton Community Charities). When NFCC is closed the bread is delivered to Meals by Grace. This is an on-going major effort for the club and provides sustaining food sources to the local food bank. Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Alpharetta recognized that “food insecurity” was a significant problem in our community in 2001. Then, as now, many families have to make tough choice when it comes to deciding what to pay for within their limited means. Food is always one of the choices. We decided to partner with the Food Pantry at North Fulton Community Charities who annually distributes food over 20,000 times. We needed a food source and found it at Fresh Market and Kroger who was willing to make their day old breads and pastries available. Every day Monday through Friday a Rotarian makes the trip to Fresh Market and Kroger. The pick-up and delivery usually take one to two hours depending on where they begin their trip and the volume of goods.
Alpharetta Rotary Club developed, planned, and executed three concerts during this Rotary Year in Brooke St Park in Alpharetta, Ga. This has now grown into some of the seminal events in Alphretta, Ga and will continue in the future. We partner closely with the City of Alpharetta to put these concerts on.

The apron continues to be available for sale, and the proceeds go to Polio. Members have worn the apron at all the Alpharetta Service Heros Rotary Feeds events at Fire Stations, Police Stations, ARNG Armories and VFW. Another opportunity to raise awareness of our fight against Polio. The Oyster Roast held on October 4
