The Rotary Club of Atlanta Metro celebrated a new member induction and the end to our club’s first full Rotary year. We shared the celebration with the Rotaract Club of Atlanta. This was our first change over ceremony and we cannot be more thankful to both President Warren Turner of the Rotary Club of Atlanta Metro, and President Caroline Lazaro of the Rotaract Club of Atlanta, for their hard work and dedication this year. These two clubs worked together all year to help spread the Rotary mission and grow membership between both clubs.
This year’s change in leadership was like none other, but the Rotary Club of Columbus still managed to celebrate this significant time in the Rotary year through the use of technology. Instead of a long line of past presidents at the front of the room, we recognized each virtually. Instead of a crowded room full of people, we had only a small crew. -Instead of shaking hands and giving hugs, we wore masks and kept our distance. But it was clear today that our club’s spirit and tradition of committed leaders was alive and well. Many thanks to Tyler Townsend @tylertownsendtwm for an amazing year as president. And we’re excited at what’s to come under Joe Young’s leadership this year and during Lori Auten’s term following. We’re also proud to celebrate Jeremy Ackles’ year as president of the Rotaract Club of Greater Columbus and look forward to another great year under Lamar Fortson. Last but certainly not least, we appreciate that AG Tracy Van Norman was there to celebrate with us.
