Three Georgia Rotary Student Program (GRSP) Awards were presented by District Governor Kirk Driskell at the Club’s meeting on 10-29-2020.
First, Teri Hurst White was honored as the Club’s newest Ronnie Waller Fellow. Ronnie served as the original GRSP Endowment Chairman who guided the Endowment through a significant period of expansion. A member of the Rotary Club of Gainesville, he also served as the GRSP Chairman. Rotary Club members can look forward to the Ronnie Waller coming to Thomasville to visit at a Club meeting very soon.
Second, Teri Hurst White honored her mother, Edna Graves Hurst, with a Will Watt Fellow, making Edna Hurst the Club’s newest Will Watt Fellow. This award recognizes Past District Governor-Will Watt, as the founder of the Georgia Rotary Student Program. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Thomasville.
Third, Harry Tomlinson, who currently holds the Club’s highest GRSP recognition, as a Jim Brim Fellow, honored his wife, Mary Tomlinson with a Kendall Weisiger Fellow. This award recognizes Kendall Weisiger, an Atlanta Rotarian, whose support of international students through the Rotary Education Foundation of Atlanta was merged into GRSP.
