Governor's Ball
Join the Online Auction - Now through Noon on Saturday, November 7

As we all know, the Covid-19 pandemic forced us to cancel the 2020 Governors Ball. It was so unfortunate. Who knew then that we would be in this current state many months later? There is, however, an opportunity here.

Before cancelling the event, we collected various items to auction at the Ball. We are currently in the middle of an online auction for those items - ranging from restaurant gift cards to get-aways to fine wine and other items.  Our goal is to raise $7,000. The auction will end at noon, Saturday, November 7, 2020. At that time, bid sheets will be reviewed. The high bidders will be contacted. Once they write a check to the club, we will deliver the items. Any items that received no bids will be returned to the donor.

If you are tech savvy and confident, go to 32Auctions.com/FR2020. Read no more, and bid, baby bid. If you are not tech savvy, please do not be afraid. I found an auction web site that is very low cost and easy to use. Remember the paper bid sheets that we have used in previous Balls? This is the same thing, only virtual. If you have any difficulty whatsoever in using this tool please do not struggle with the technology. Call me directly at 678-296-2295 and I will help you through the process.

The site is called 32Auctions.com. These are the instructions on how to use the auction site. Here's how it works:

  1. Using your favorite browser, go to www.32Auctions.com/FR2020.
  2. Once there, you will have to log in. On your first visit you will have to establish an account. I have had an account for about 6 weeks. I did not have to provide any sensitive information. I have received no spam. I think it is safe to create an account. To create the account, click on Login in top right portion of the page. If this is your first visit click on “Create an account now”. Fill out the appropriate information. You should now have an account.
  3. The next page you see is the auction home page. It should say 2020 Fund Raiser – Gov Ball Replacement. There is some summary information but if you scroll down you will see a View All Items green button. Click on it. The resulting page provides a view into all the items in the auction. Scroll up and down to see them all.
  4. At this point I suspect your heart will be racing with excitement to bid. To do that, click on an item. The next page you will see is the bid sheet for that item. Each item has an opening bid amount and an incremental bid amount. If you want to make a bid, do so by entering your amount and then clicking on Place My Bid.

It is that simple. At the top of the page is an icon that looks like a house. Click on it to go back to the auction home page. I hope these instructions are understandable. Again, do not struggle with the technology. If you have a problem, contact me!

Happy bidding!!!
