Past RI Director Robert Hall ... in Person and Via Zoom

As we continue our November celebration of The Rotary Foundation, this week's speaker is our own Robert Hall, who currently serves as Rotary International's Vice Chair of the End Polio Now: Countdown to History Campaign Committee. Before joining the Rotary Club of Dunwoody in 1986,  Robert has been a member of the Rotary Clubs of Brunswick GA, Milwaukee WI and Baton Rouge LA. He is also an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta GA. Robert is one of Dunwoody's three Past District Governors, and has also served District 6900 as its representative to the Council on Legislation, Long Range Planning Chair, Finance Chair, Major Donor Co-Chair, Rotary Foundation Chair and Director of the Georgia Rotary Student Program. 

Robert has served Rotary International as Director, on the Board’s Executive Committee, as Chair of the 2017 Atlanta International Convention Host Committee, as a member of the 2017 Rotary International Convention Committee, as the 2017 Rotary Foundation 100th Celebration Committee and Chair of the Rotary Action Groups, Audit and Global Engagement & Service Groups committees. He has been a Rotary Foundation End Polio Now Coordinator, served on the Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Grants Committee, was on the Rotary International Director Nominating Committee and Rotary International President Nominating Committee – which selected Rotary International’s first woman President.

Robert has represented the RI President at district conferences and been a keynote speaker in several states and countries for Rotary & other organizations. He has participated in several international projects and led a National Immunization Day team to Uttar Pradesh, India (one of the pictures here). Robert is a Major Donor & Bequest Society member and a member of the Arch Klumph Society Circle of Honor. He has received the Service Above Self Award, the Citation for Meritorious Service, the Distinguished Service Award and the Regional & International Awards for a Polio-free World.

Robert is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and received his MBA from Tulane University. He retired from the IBM Corporation and owns HRH Consulting, specializing in Executive, Management & Professional Recruiting, Coaching & Training. Robert was President of the Georgia Tech National Alumni Association, Trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation, and received Georgia Tech’s prestigious Dean Griffin Community Service Award. He served on the boards of Communities in Schools of Georgia, the State of Georgia YMCA, the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy, the United Way, President of the DeKalb County Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Secretary of the Better Business Bureau. He has served in an advisory capacity to Oglethorpe University, MedShare International and Tulane University Alumni Association’s career counseling program. He has served in a fundraising role for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Crusade, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, American Cancer Society and AID Atlanta.

An active member of his church, Robert has taught Sunday School, and served as Chair of the Finance Committee and Chair of the Board of Deacons. He and Charlene have three children and seven grandchildren. Charlene is an Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody, and is known for her work to help Alzheimer's patients and families, and further Alzheimer's research,
