Tucker Supports Crutches for Africa

Tucker Rotarians Ed "Rusty" Warner and Bill Dowden load truck at FODAC for trip to warehouse

The Rotary Club of Tucker has entered its third year of working with Crutches 4 Africa, founded by David and Candice Talbot of Denver Colorado. C4A arranges for crutches, walker, canes and other medical items to be shipped to FODAC in Stone Mountain where the Tucker Club assists in sorting and boxing the items. Tucker Rotarian Bill Dowden then supplies his box truck to deliver six pallets to a warehouse on the west side of Atlanta where a shipping container is prepared for the journey to Africa.

The 2017/2018 Rotary year started with a shipment of 12 pallets to the warehouse and additional loads being prepared that will include pediatric wheelchairs and gel mattresses. In the last Rotary year, the club shipped 30 pallets and a load of 36 pediatric wheelchairs and 2 dozen gel mattresses.
