Marietta Delivers Chick-fil-A Dinner, Valentines and Chocolates to Assisted Living Facilities

In the week leading up to Valentine's Day, the Rotary Club of Marietta treated 300 residents of The Retreat at Dorsey Manor and Walton Renaissance Assisted Living Facility on Henderson Street in Marietta were treated to a dinner from Chick-fil-A and Valentine cards and chocolate treats.

This enterprise was a collaboration of the Rotary Club of Marietta, the Chick-fil-A at Macland Crossing, and the Marietta Housing Authority. Packet assembly was facilitated by Club President Mary Ansley Southerland as a component of the regular Wednesday luncheon meeting. Chick-fil-A meals were graciously provided by fellow Rotarian and owner of the Macland Crossing Chick-fil-A, Sandeep Kapoor. Sandeep’s devoted and dedicated team prepared, packed and loaded meals during the downpour on Thursday.

Distribution was managed by Rotarian Mark Wright, COO of Marietta Housing Authority. Other Rotarians assisting at the facilities were Don Barbour, Rosser Southerland, Marlys Williams, and Mark Wright. Meals were personally delivered to each apartment and handed to each resident.

Residents have been quarantined since March due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, and residents expressed thanks and praises to Marietta Rotary, Chick-fil-A, and the Marietta Housing Authority for their generosity and caring.
