North Atlanta Rotary
coordinated a community-wide collection day in July - with support from all of the clubs in the DeKalb Rotary Council and the North Atlanta Rotaract Club. The event benefitted FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children) and it was a
smashing success! The value of all items collected is estimated at over $250,000, plus a generous $200 donation for repairs. Our North Atlanta Event Coordinator, Past President Ralph Sims, is to be congratulated for pulling together all the moving parts creating this opportunity for such a wonderful and successful community service.
This success would not have been accomplished without the help and support of Rotarians from seven additional Rotary Clubs - Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Emory Druid Hills, Tucker, Decatur, Stone Mountain and South DeKalb - and the North Atlanta Rotaract Club. Many thanks to the 46 Rotary and Rotaract volunteers for persevering through the heat and humidity of the day to be a part of the biggest one-day collection for FODAC. Thanks to our team members we had the right equipment - a mix of SUVs, Trucks, Trailers and even a Box Truck! Thanks also to two very hard working FODAC staff members who supported us during the day.
