On Sunday, February 11, the Sandy Springs Rotary Club hosted
its third annual, internationally-recognized Senior Prom for seniors, as part
of Rotary International’s ongoing efforts to honor and engage our seniors. The
event was held at the Dorothy C. Benson Multipurpose Complex and was attended
by over 100 Sandy Springs seniors from the Dorothy Benson Complex, Hollander
Senior Living, and Mt. Vernon Village. Also attending as volunteer hosts,
in addition to Rotarians from the Sandy Springs Rotary Club, was the Rotary
Interact Club from Riverwood High School.
“This was another memorable and unique Valentine’s Party for the seniors and the Rotarians,” commented Rotarian Nancy Schroeder. “Everyone relived their high school prom and enjoyed the live music by Valerie Waters and the Royal Novas, portrait photographs, corsages, and great food.” There was no cost to attend.
The Sandy Springs Rotary Club is grateful to the following Sandy Springs restaurants for providing the delicious buffet of food: Breadwinner, Brooklyn Café, Costco, Emidio’s, 5 Seasons, Henri’s Bakery, Hilton Garden Inn, Huey Luey’s, Ippolito’s, Nothing Bundt Cake, Publix, Sandy Springs Diner, Taco Mac, Three Dollar Café, Zaxby's, and Zoe’s Kitchen.
