Griffin Rotary Clubs Partner to Help End Human Trafficking

The Rotary Clubs of Griffin and Griffin Daybreak joined with the Griffin Daily News to make April 2018 Human Trafficking Awareness month. The Griffin Daily News ran a front page article each Sunday in April to raise public awareness.

  • On April 1, the GDN published an article with information about Human Trafficking.
  • On April 8, the City of Griffin Police Chief shared statistics concerning human trafficking cases reported within the Griffin community.
  • An April 15th article highlighted Bob Rodgers of streetgrace.com and discussed the great work his faith based organization is doing inside Atlanta.
  • On April 22, the article highlighted Dorsey Jones, a survivor of Sex Trafficking during her teens in Bainbridge, GA.
  • On April 29, Rotary was given approval to place approximately 345 posters with the hotline number in our local middle and high schools, plus our county operated recreation centers and the Chamber of Commerce rest rooms. Representatives from the Griffin-Spalding County School System, Spalding County Leisure Services and the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce accepted the posters for distribution at the May 17 meeting of the Rotary Club of Griffin.
