GRSP - An Alumni Perspective
GRSP, Building Global Friendships

by Antonella Trabinino, El Salvador ... GRSP Class of 2016-17 ... sponsored by RC Alpharetta

Hey y'all,

I have no words to thank you for the opportunity you have given me. All my life I dreamed of studying abroad, I knew that the chances of this being possible were very few. When I received the email saying that they had given me the scholarship my joy was immense. I remember receiving it in the middle of a class, I screamed and cried of emotion, no one understood what was happening. Being able to share my culture, and at the same time learn form 50 different countries, is priceless.

I think about it and I can't believe it. The year is about to end and even though I have a huge sadness, I am happy and full of many good memories and friendships. During my year as a GRSP student I had two host families and the Club of Alpharetta who welcomed me with open arms and loved me like their own daughter. I'm sure I'll always be able to count on them. Thanks to them I have been able to experience the American culture to its finest, and I love it. Today I not only have a home in the United States, but also all around the world. UNG has given me the College experience I had always dreamed of and more. I have made friends for life, and shared with them the best moments of my life. Even though many said that chow (dining hall) was not very good, I must admit that I loved it. Therefore, I am a victim of freshmen 15.

Thanks to you and to the education that I have been able to receive here I have looked for different options and opportunities to continue my studies abroad. I know that I could make a difference and help my country grow.
