Griffin Rotary Clubs Partner to Help End Human Trafficking

The Rotary
Clubs of Griffin and Griffin Daybreak
joined with the Griffin
Daily News to make April 2018 Human Trafficking Awareness month. The Griffin
Daily News ran a front page article each Sunday in April to raise public
awareness.
- On April 1, the GDN published an article with information
about Human Trafficking.
- On April 8, the City of Griffin Police
Chief shared statistics concerning human trafficking cases reported within the
Griffin community.
- An April 15th article highlighted Bob Rodgers of
streetgrace.com and discussed the great work his faith based organization is
doing inside Atlanta.
- On April 22, the article highlighted Dorsey Jones, a
survivor of Sex Trafficking during her teens in Bainbridge, GA.
- On April 29, Rotary was given approval to place approximately 345 posters with the hotline
number in our local middle and high schools, plus our county operated
recreation centers and the Chamber of Commerce rest rooms. Representatives from
the Griffin-Spalding County School System, Spalding County Leisure Services and
the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce accepted the posters for distribution
at the May 17 meeting of the Rotary Club of Griffin.
